Friday evening hubby told me we were going to stay at home this weekend, after having the boys for two weeks and all the driving around sightseeing he wanted to relax...now I know him so well, I know his relax would be cleaning the house, cleaning the car etc...my husband cannot sit still!!¬

So before going to bed on Friday night I asked once more, *what are the plans for tomorrow as I need to plan if we're going out, dont drop it on me 10 minutes before you want to leave * ( being a girl and all, I like to look *nice* when I walk out in public )
He replied * well I was thinking of going to Fulda to buy you a pair of jeans * ( shock, delight emotions all at once I experienced ) * You do need jeans dont you? * he asked...* I do need jeans * I replied...

So on Saturday morning we headed off to Fulda to buy me a pair of jeans....I walked out an hour later with 3 pairs of jeans ( all different styles and makes ) and two tops! So I was thrilled....I love jeans, they're my everyday uniform - so now can keep my new jeans for when I go out the front door - my old pair is all broken at the bottom I wear it so often, but they are sooooooooo comfortable, feels like a 2nd skin when wearing them.
At least now when I get to CT my daughter in law can see me in other jeans besides my favorite one, I wore them to death in CT as I never took enough warm clothing with me when I went on what I thougth was a summer holiday...it was the coldest and wettest month in Cape Town.
After shopping we went to the new restaurants we found after Christmas in Fulda, its really lovely there, so modern compared to the other places in our town...its a place we are going to visit often as we love the whole vibe there. Yesterday the sun was streaming in through the windows which made it look very summery and cosy indoors, looking out of the windows you could see the beautiful white world - as the sun hit the snow it looked like millions of diamonds lying out there.
Driving back home hubby suggested we take my camera and take a walk to the Castle in town - we could see so many other people walking and enjoying the day - unlike us South Africans who think when its cold outdoors you stay inside!!!
So we got ourselves warmly dressed and headed out to the castle....what a lovely walk, you could hear the snow crunching under your feet with each step you took. The rivers were partly frozen, the lake was totally frozen, hubby and I took a walk on it....All the little steams were frozen, looked very weird, like standing still in time - not flowing. We walked up to the castle, I actually jogged and wanted to die when I got to the top, could not breath, remember the air is so cold out there, wanted to pull off my scalf and throw my camera to the ground and let out a mighty scream...I had to use lots of self control and mind power to keep myself from doing that...( lesson learnt, dont jog in cold temp uphill )
I took photo's with my new lens yesterday...I am going to love this new camera once I've mastered it...hubby bought me 3 books from Amazon on Friday - all on how to get the most out of my model camera...I said one book would be okay but have seen this weekend everything came in 3's...3 books, 3 pairs of jeans!!!!!

Etiquette needed for Weekly Winners !! I am still on learning curve with all this blogging etiquette !! Jeanette helps me a lot!! and I just copy her !! Keep some 'best' photos for W.Winners then if you can (something I can't do (!) download the W.Winners logo - have no idea where to find it! - and even if I found it, I wouldn't know how to transfer it onto my blog!) YES .. I AM CLUELESS! THEN download photos. Mention of W.Winners and Lotus' (sarcasticmom.com) blog at the bottom is a MUST. Then link to it and add your name to the list and comments. Viola! Weekly Winners !

On my visit to Germany in Nov 07 I was also amazed how the Germans were walking around outside when it was rainy, something us South Africans DON'T do.
